The Studio

McCarthy School of Dance offers a cost effective competitive program taught by highly qualified professional and experienced teachers with internationally recognized affiliations.

 

We are members of the Society of Russian Ballet (S.R.B.), Canadian Dance Teachers Association (C.D.T.A.), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.), and The Royal Academy of Dance Teachers Diploma specializing in the Teaching of Children. 

 

Examinations are offered in Ballet from Primary to Advanced and Pre-Professional level in S.R.B. and C.D.T.A.. We offer Teacher Training Qualifications as well as student exams in Jazz (C.D.T.A.), Tap (C.D.T.A.), Modern (C.D.T.A. or I.S.T.D.), and Acro (Acrobatique, Acrobatic Arts).

We are affiliated with Team Canada  as choreographers and adjudicators for the I.D.O. World Dance Championships in addition to the recently announced ArtsGames.

In October 2016 our director, Kathrine McCarthy, became an official I.D.O. World Championship Judge. 

 

Our competitive team wins many Overall Awards and trophies as well as World Championships.

 

Some of our former students are now professional teachers, professional dancers, professional choreographers, some teach for their own studios, some are dancing on Broadway, or are professional ballerinas’, ballet examiners, etc.
